UBP Group Deputy Chairman and Nicosia District President Ahmet Savaşan published a message on his personal social media account on the 12th anniversary of the death of Founding President Denktaş.
Pointing out that Rauf Raif Denktaş achieved great successes by taking over the leadership of the struggle on the path opened by Dr. Fazıl Küçük, who was the flagbearer of the Existence Struggle, and that he saved the Turkish Cypriot people from being a society and made them a state, Nicosia District Chairman Ahmet Savaşan said, “How happy I am that I had the honor of being with our esteemed leader in his last moments and serving him. May he rest in peace! His memories and teachings will continue to enlighten our path.”.

“I commemorate Rauf Raif Denktaş, the great leader of our Existence Struggle, with deep longing and unwavering faith.
Rauf Raif Denktaş achieved great success by taking over the leadership of the struggle on the path opened by Dr. Fazıl Küçük, who was the flagbearer of the Existence Struggle, and saved the Turkish Cypriot people from being a community and made them a state. Rauf Denktaş's political attitude that led the formation and development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, his trust in the Turkish Cypriot people and his unwavering faith in Turkey continue to be instructive for us.
I am blessed to have had the honor to be with our dear leader in his last moments and to serve him. May he rest in peace!
